Latitude is research, not legal advice
Everything on this site — country files, visa checklists, timelines, cost figures — is general information to help you research a move. It is not legal, immigration, tax or financial advice, and reading it does not create any professional relationship between us.
Immigration rules are living things: requirements vary consulate by consulate, change without notice, and are applied by human officers with discretion. We verify against official sources and date every claim — and a figure can still be outdated the week after we checked it. Before acting, always confirm with the official source or a licensed professional (an immigration lawyer, a tax adviser, your consulate). Every page of ours links to the sources so you can do exactly that.
Your data stays with you
Latitude has no tracking scripts, no ads, and no analytics cookies. There is one optional account, for one feature — the paid AI assistant — and everything else works without ever telling us who you are.
- Your tools live in your browser. Everything you enter in the Life Fit test, the Notebook, the cost calculator and the pet wizard is stored in your device's local storage only. It never reaches a server of ours — we couldn't read it if we wanted to. You can export it as a file or clear it at any time.
- Signing in is optional, and only the assistant needs it. Every tool on this site is free, account-free, and staying that way. If you do sign in, our auth provider (Clerk) holds your email address and name, plus two flags of ours: whether you have paid access, and how many assistant questions you've asked this month. Signing in sets session cookies — the strictly necessary kind, not tracking.
- What the assistant sends. Nothing leaves your device until you press send. Then your question and the page you were on go to our server and on to Anthropic's API, which writes the answer; Anthropic processes it under their API terms. Your own story travels only if you switch it on, and the switch shows you the exact sentence that would be sent. We keep no transcript — only a count of how many questions you asked this month. We never send your name or email with the question.
- What does leave your device: the Costs and Notebook pages fetch daily exchange rates from the European Central Bank via the open Frankfurter API (a standard web request — no personal data attached), and our host (Vercel) keeps ordinary, short-lived server logs to run the site, as every host does.
- If you email us, your message lands in a Gmail-hosted mailbox (Google processes it in transit, as with any Gmail address). We use it only to reply — no lists, no newsletters unless you explicitly ask for something.
- No cookie banner, because no tracking cookies. Local storage is used solely to keep your own work on your own device. The only cookies this site sets are the sign-in session ones, and only if you choose to sign in — nothing to consent to, and nothing following you around.
Accuracy, honestly stated
We work hard to be right: every fact carries a source and a date, index data comes from the report's own PDF, and values we can't confirm are shown as unverified instead of being guessed. But we make no warranty that anything here is complete, current or error-free — no honest site about immigration could.
When we're wrong, we say so in public: every country file keeps a versioned changelog, and corrections are documented rather than silently overwritten. The full ledger is here. If you spot an error, telling us is genuinely useful — the contact card is on the About page.
Using the site
- Free for personal use. Read it, plan with it, share it. Quote it with attribution and a link. Please don't wholesale-copy the files or present our work as yours.
- Decisions are yours. To the fullest extent the law allows, Latitude and the WindSeeker ecosystem accept no liability for decisions made, applications filed, or losses suffered on the basis of this site. We give you our best research; the move is your call — as it should be.
- External links (official portals, source reports) lead to sites we don't control; their content and their privacy practices are their own.
- Illustrations are AI-generated (Midjourney) in the site's house style and are credited where they appear. The written content is researched and edited by humans.
- This page can change. When it does, the date at the top changes with it — no silent edits, same as everywhere else on Latitude.
